GENERAL SUMMARY

 

The EHS Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the organization’s Environmental Improvement and Sustainability Programs, including the Wastewater Treatment facilities. Role will support the Safety Department on an as needed basis.

UNIVERSAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Mission of the Company by identifying and accomplishing team and individual performance goals that directly support the goals of the Company.
  • Treat all co-workers, customers and suppliers with respect and in accordance with the Company’s Code of Ethics.
  • Follow all company GMPs and SOPs

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish Environmental Health and Sustainability (EHS) strategies and goals necessary to achieve excellence in EHS performance across all divisional locations and communicate them widely, ensuring ongoing engagement across the organization.
  • Assure compliance of divisional operations to all applicable laws, regulations, and standards, including local legislation
  • Develop and analyze EHS reporting. Consolidate and report key EHS metrics monthly, quarterly, and annually, as required.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including but not limited to the EPA, OSHA, and DOT.
  • Manage and deliver improved results in the wastewater treatment facilities and environmental programs.
  • Respond to and address customer and supplier sustainability initiatives.
  • Accountable for building new and improved systems that ensures that the company is socially and environmentally responsible.
  • Position will involve infrequent travel.
Requirements

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, Environmental, or related technical discipline required, and or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in maintaining compliance with EPA, OSHA and DOT highly desired.
  • 6+ years of progressive experience leading EHS in a multi-site manufacturing organization with a proven record of establishing effective programs and delivering continuous performance improvements.
  • Must have a working understanding of environmental, health and safety regulations with extensive experience in the development, maintenance, and implementation of EHS management systems.
  • Professional Certification a plus.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing/continuous improvement principles preferred.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to think strategically and translate to a tactical level required.
  • Bilingual in both English and Spanish preferred.
  • Excellent presentation and written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, Excel, Power Point, and Teams.
  • Detailed planning and project management.

  • Mathematical – Add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers and perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals and percentages.
  • Language Development – Ability to communicate information and ideas by speaking or writing so others will understand; ability to gather and organize information to write reports and/or articles for publication and sales material; can prepare and/or deliver presentations; interview, counsel or advise people; evaluate technical data.
  • Physical Effort – Sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Professional – Ability to persuade others to change their minds or behavior; ability to handle complaints, settle disputes, resolve conflicts or otherwise negotiate with others.
  • Vision – Far, near, mid-range vision, color identification, depth      perception, field of vision
  • Activity – Talk, hear, walk, stand, finger dexterity (computer especially).
