Core Hours
Monday – Friday, 7am – 4pm
**Please note that hours could be scheduled outside of these core hours to allow for inventory count completion after production is finished. Some evening and/or weekend flexibility could be needed in this role.**
SUMMARY
The Cycle Counter is responsible for inventory verification at The Suter Company. This position will help to ensure that we have the materials available, and the finished goods produced to ship orders at 100% fill rate while eliminating production interruptions. This position will enable the Supply Chain team to order and maintain the proper inventory level of all materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Prepare a schedule to collect counts around production schedule and anticipated inbound and outbound POs.
· Counting inventory – Monthly/Weekly/Daily according to the count schedule.
· Confirm counts on Finished Goods, WIP and QA holds
· Count pallets based on inventory needs.
· Gather use-by-date (UBD) on select items when counting inventory.
· Verify and reconcile inventories.
· Resolve inventory discrepancies and determine root cause.
· Detailed understanding of production schedule
· Review cycle count accuracy report with manager
· Enter inventory loss sheets.
· Maintain pull system for inter-company transfers of specific items.
· Maintain location system for packaging and ingredients and contribute to the future state of warehouse operations, including FIFO/FEFO (First In First Out/First Expired First Out), organizational systems, item ID.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in Special Projects as assigned.
- Pursue opportunities to add value to the Suter team (i.e. volunteer to assist with company events; volunteer to lead a project; become involved in a Lean team; submit a safety suggestion; write and/or audit an SOP; write an article for the company newsletter; find ways to reduce waste; mentor/coach others; cross-train or learn a new task or skill.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all internal customers
- Evaluate existing inventory processes with a lean manufacturing mindset and continuously search for new ways to reduce costs and improve efficiencies as well as keep the warehouse organized.
- General file and spreadsheet management
- Some early morning/weekend hours when needed.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Minimum High School graduate.
- Minimum 2 years working in manufacturing or warehouse/distribution environment, with forklift experience.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Strong working knowledge of Excel, Outlook and Teams
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Forklift Certified
- Ability to move between two facilities – personal vehicle transportation required (mileage to be reimbursed at current IRS mileage reimbursement rate)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities/meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Attentive to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to shift from various projects and manage frequent interruptions.
- Time Management – Ability to plan work hours to most efficiently and accurately complete job responsibilities.
- Mathematical – Add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers and perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals and percentages quickly and correctly.
- Communication– Ability to clearly communicate information by speaking or writing so others will understand; ability to gather and organize information
- Ability to perform day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining files, spreadsheets, records and processing paperwork.
- Physical Effort – Active work, including walking, driving forklift, and managing up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Vision – Far, near and mid-range vision, depth perception, color identification, and field of vision.
- Activity – Regularly required to talk, hear, perform repetitive motions, use finger dexterity; occasionally stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands.
ADDITIONAL BENEFICIAL, BUT NOT REQUIRED, SKILLS: CDL license to drive Suter trucks.
